Genealogy services can now be paid with PayPal. PayPal offers instant and secure online payment services. Rest assured that PayPal is safer, quicker, and cheaper. PayPal is the world's largest way to accept Internet-based payments. You do not have to establish a PayPal account.

All genealogy services conducted by Val's Roots Professional Genealogy Services are billed via statement. You may pay the statement by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Payments made via credit card are processed by PayPal. Through PayPal's encrypted and secure transaction connection, your payment is directed to Val's Roots Professional Genealogy Services through Valerie Eichler Lair's private email address. You can also pay your Terms of Agreement Contract retainer fee in this manner.

Although there is a small transaction fee using PayPal, it is minimal compared to other merchant-type accounts. You will be billed for only the fee charged by PayPal, with no hidden costs or additional fees.

Services provided:

Partial or Complete Research Projects
Consultations
Photography (tombstones, ancestral homes, or any other specific localities)
Data-entry (genealogy software or cemetery transcriptions)
Audio Tape Transcriptions
Reunion Planning

Fees:

$35.00 per hour.
$35.00 per hour for analysis and compilation of research reports.

Out-of-pocket expenses such as, but not limited to, are charged to the client for photocopies, postage,documents/certificates, pull fees charged by repositories, placing any ads, microfilm/fiche rental, parking and tolls, long distance telephone calls.

A retainer is required prior to the start of service. The normal retainer is for 50% of the authorized hours; however, this can be negotiated to fit the financial needs and budget of the client.

Checks, money orders, bank drafts or cash is accepted. Payment plans are available upon prior arrangements between the client and Valerie Eichler Lair.

Client Expectations:

Terms of Agreement Contract specifically stating the services to be provided. This contract must be signed by the client and Valerie Eichler Lair prior to the start of the project.
Quality service at the above reasonable fees.
A typed research report, including complete source citations and further research suggestions, along with copies of all documents obtained or services performed.
Thorough and professional service. I abide by the Code of Ethics for the Association of Professional Genealogists.

Val’s Roots Professional Genealogy Services Expectations:

Terms of Agreement Contract specifically stating the services to be provided. This contract must be signed by the client and Valerie Eichler Lair prior to the start of the project.
Every client provides copies of pertinent Ancestor Charts, Family Group Sheets, and Research Calendar(s) showing what work has already been completed which applies to the specific project. This is required in order that no duplication of research is done on the part of Valerie Eichler Lair.
The client understands clearly that they are paying for the time and expertise of Valerie Eichler Lair.
